Let's take a look at some of the scenarios that I've been crafting for this book to see how they might be structured.

Day Three

a. the gripping opening: The hero's husband is kidnapped while they are on a vacation trip to Disneyland.

b. the evil plot gets under way and the hero, in terrible trouble, fights a defensive battle: The hero tries to find out what happened to her husband. The authorities act weird. The hero can't even prove he ever existed.

c. the turning point (often a kind of symbolic death and rebirth). the hero goes on the offensive: The hero gets a lead on the kidnappers and goes after them while the villain tries to kill her.

d. the hero confronts the villain, who almost wins but is finally defeated in a slam-bang climax: The hero frees her husband and is almost killed by the villain but manages to kill her first.

e. resolution. tells what happens to the major characters as a result of the hero's victory or defeat: The hero, victorious, is reunited with her husband. All seems to end happily—except, in a surprise twist, the hero's husband returns to the government secret project and, to protect her, severs all future contact.
